Questionable Bears C Olin Kreutz will start
The Chicago Bears listed veteran center Olin Kreutz as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Minnesota Vikings at Soldier Field with a hamstring injury.
But even though Kreutz was limited in practice Friday and was held out of practices the two previous days, the 13-year veteran is expected to start. Kreutz has made 126 consecutive starts and missed just one game in the last nine seasons after he had an emergency appendectomy.
The Bears aren’t tipping their hand, but if they truly feared Kreutz was not going to play, they would have reacted in practice during the week and moved veteran right guard Roberto Garza inside to center to get him ready for the game. Instead, Kreutz was replaced in practice by Lance Louis, who has no game experience at all playing center, not even in preseason.
For his part, Kreutz said he is ready to play.
“This time of year, nobody is at full strength,” he said. “I’m not concerned about it. Just have to show up and play.”
