Raiders acquire Aaron Curry from Seahawks

The Oakland Raiders acquired linebacker Aaron Curry from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for draft picks on Wednedsay.

Curry, the fourth overall pick in the 2009 draft, had been shopped around for a several weeks by the Seahawks, who finally found a taker in the Raiders. According to InsideBayArea.com, the Raiders obtained Curry in exchange for draft picks in 2012 and 2013.

It is not exactly certain where Curry, who was benched and fell out of favor in Seattle, will fit with the Raiders, who already have Kamerion Wimbley and Quintin Groves starting at outside linebacker.

Nonetheless, it is exactly typical of the type of low-risk, potentially high-reward move the Raiders would make and have pay dividends during their heydey. Somewhere, Al Davis is smiling and proud.

Also, as a side note regarding the Raiders, quarterback Terrelle Pryor practiced for the first time on Wednesday as a member of the Raiders. Pryor served a five-game suspension for attempting to skirt the sanctity of the NFL draft process when he left Ohio State (where he also had a five-game ban due to NCAA infractions) to enter the supplemental draft.
