Raiders expected to trade for Matt Schaub

The Houston Texans are expected to trade former starting quarterback Matt Schaub to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for a late-round draft pick, according to ESPN.

Schaub struggled last season and lost his starting job.

The Texans signed quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to a two-year, $7.5 million contract Thursday.

Fitzpatrick is expected to mentor a rookie quarterback as the Texans hold the top overall pick and may draft a quarterback as their new franchise quarterback.

Schaub's contract would likely need to be reworked.
