Raiders eye rival Broncos' coordinators

The Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders both finished at 8-8 in the mediocre AFC West this season, with the Broncos getting the nod for the postseason in a three-way tie (San Diego was also 8-8.).

But the Broncos' 8-8 was impressive enough to the Raiders that Oakland has asked for permission to speak to not one, but two of Denver's coordinators about the Raiders' vacant head coaching position.

According to ESPN.com, the Raiders have asked to interview both Denver defensive coordinator Dennis Allen and offensive coordinator Mike McCoy. McCoy incidentially is also on the Miami Dolphins' radar as well.

Could the Raiders just be trying to extract information from a division rival, or are they really serious about Allen and/or McCoy as the team's next head coach? After all, new GM Reggie McKenzie appeared ready to tap into the Green Bay Packers' pipeline from whence he came.

Perhaps the Raiders are just going to use some Jedi mind tricks to try and obtain some inside info about the rival Broncos. Or maybe they could just hire Josh McDaniels as an inside source.
