Raiders fail Rodger Saffold on physical, going back to Rams

Veteran offensive lineman Rodger Saffold is rejoining the St. Louis Rams on a five-year contract after his five-year, $42.5 million contract was voided by the Oakland Raiders due to a failed physical, according to ESPN.

Per the report, the Raiders had issues with Saffold's shoulder. The Rams didn't share those concerns.

Saffold had agreed to a deal with the Raiders that included $21.5 million guaranteed.

This is a crushing blow considering that the Raiders lost offensive tackle Jared Veldheer to the Arizona Cardinals.

Saffold has dealt with shoulder, knee, neck and pectoral issues in the past.

He's an ascending young lineman with an injury history, one that apparently doesn't worry the Rams.
