Raiders hold key in two QB situations
Strange as it sounds, the Oakland Raiders hold the key to solving - at least heading into the draft and off-season work - two unsettled quarterback situations, according to Sports Illustrated's Peter King.
If the Raiders move Carson Palmer and his expensive $13 million cap number to the Arizona Cardinals, it not only puts Palmer in the hands of Bruce Arians, but it also opens the door for Oakland to acquire Matt Flynn from Seattle.
Palmer's vertical style would seem to be a fit with what Arians wants to do in Arizona, not to mention maximizing Larry Fitzgerald's talents.
Flynn needs an opportunity to start after being signed as a free agent by the Seahawks last year, only to be beaten out by rookie phenom Russell Wilson.
If those two deals happen, plus Buffalo's signing of Kevin Kolb, it helps to stabilize, at least on paper, the remaining fluid quarterback situations around the league. Of course, there are those who would argue that teams like the Jets and Jaguars are far from stable at quarterback, but at least there is some semblance of a pecking order heading into the season, even in those spots.
