Raiders owner says Dennis Allen to remain head coach

There won't be an eighth coaching chance in the NFL this season, barring anything unforeseen.

Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis told the Contra Costa Times that coach Dennis Allen and he had a meeting that "went well" and that Allen will remain the coach for 2014.

The Raiders went 4-12 and there was expected to be resistance from Allen at making changes to his coaching staff.

However, it looks like Davis and Allen are on the same page.

Davis said he'll meet again with Allen and general manager Reggie McKenzie on Wednesday.
