Raiders quarterback Derek Carr suffers concussion

Oakland Raiders rookie quarterback Derek Carr suffered a concussion and bruised ribs during a win over the Detroit Lions on Friday night.

A second-round draft pick from Fresno State, Carr got tackled by Lions defensive end Larry Webster.

Carr grabbed his ribs immediately.

"He has sore ribs," Raiders coach Dennis Allen said, "but the concussion is why he came out of the game."

Carr wasn't allowed to talk to reporters after the game under the NFL concussion policy.

Carr completed nine of 16 passes for 109 yards and a touchdown.
