Raiders sign Trent Edwards, Carter, Troup to offseason roster

The Oakland Raiders signed quarterback Trent Edwards and defensive linemen David Carter and Torell Troup to reserve-future deals.

Edwards is a former Buffalo Bills starter.

He tried out for the Raiders during the season. A former third-round pick from Stanford, he has also played for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles.

Carter is a former Dallas Cowboys backup. He was a sixth-round draft pick with the Arizona Cardinals.

He has 30 career ackles, one sack and one forced fumble.

Troup has previously played for the Bills.

He's a former second-round draft pick from Central Florida. He has 31 tackles and two pass deflections, but suffered a back injury and hasn't played in a game since 2011.
