Raiders zero in on Broncos' Allen
The Oakland Raiders have targeted Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Dennis Allen to be their next head coach, according to ESPN.com. Allen and the Raiders are apparently in negotiations.
The other finalist in Oakland was, according to a source, Philadelphia offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, who remains a possibility with the Indianapolis Colts.
What is interesting in the Raiders' move, if they indeed hire Allen, is that early reports and speculation had new general manager Reggie McKenzie staying within the Green Bay Packers family three with either Winston Moss or Dom Capers. However, he has turned his attention to a top aide from a division rival, which should make things in the AFC West even more interesting this season.
