Rams claim Case Keenum, form practice squad without Michael Sam

The St. Louis Rams were awarded quarterback Case Keenum off waivers from the Houston Texans.

And they signed 10 players to their practice squad, but didn't include defensive end Michael Sam as part of it.

Sam remains unsigned.

The practice squad includes linebacker Denicos Allen, receiver Emory Blake, safety Christian Bryant, defensive tackle Matt Conrath, safety Matt Daniels, quarterback Garrett Gilbert, tackle Sean Hooey, linebacker Kevin Reddick, receiver Justin Veltung and guard Brandon Washington.

Keenum is expected to back up Shaun Hill after Sam Bradford was placed on injured reserve with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Keenum started eight games in 2013, throwing for 1,760 yards, nine touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 54.2 percent of his passes. He lost all eight starts.
