Rams lose CB Bradley Fletcher for season
Bad news continues to pile up for the St. Louis Rams, who lost cornerback Bradley Fletcher for the season when he suffered a torn ACL on Wednesday in a bye week practice.
Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the team has now lost three of its projected top four cornerbacks entering the year to season-ending injuries. It’s a tough blow and could lead to the promotion of veteran Al Harris.
Fletcher was injured when he collided with wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker.
Ron Bartell is on the shelf with a neck injury and Jerome Murphy had ankle surgery during training camp. What’s worse? Three rookie cornerbacks went on injured reserve at roster cutdown or in the first few weeks of the season.
"I feel bad for (Murphy)," Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "Another rehab. ... Tough business."
Looks like the Rams will be in the uncertain business of looking for a cornerback this week.
