Rams officially hire Gregg Williams

Gregg Williams will reunite with his former boss, Jeff Fisher, as he has officially been named the defensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams.

Williams was once a coordinator under Fisher with the Tennessee Titans and was set to become the Rams' defensive coordinator under Fisher when he took the Rams head coaching job two years ago. However, the Bountygate scandal came to light and Williams was suspended for the entire season as a result.

After his suspension was lifted, Williams spent the 2013 season as a defensive assistant with the Titans. Now, he'll have the chance of being an NFL defensive coordinator again.

“As I’ve stated before, I believe Gregg is an outstanding football coach and is capable of taking our defense to the next level,” Fisher said in a statement.
