Rams personnel man Softli on way out
There hasn’t been a lot of front office turnover this year, maybe in large part due to the labor issues looming over the league, but one job may be opening up.
Tony Softli, the vice president of player personnel for the St. Louis Rams, has been given permission by the club to seek other jobs. That’s code for Softli is on his way out of the Gateway City.
Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported the news and noted that Softli was absent over the weekend when the club conducted its rookie minicamp. Softli, 50, has been with the team for four seasons, but his role was reduced after Billy Devaney was hired in 2008. Softli has supervised the college scouting operation for the past two years, and had a strong background with his work previously in Carolina.
