Ravens add cornerback Chris Greenwood
The Ravens were forced to add another cornerback to the position group that has experience numerous injuries all season long.
On Wednesday, Baltimore announced the signing of cornerback Chris Greenwood. Greenwood was signed from the Vikings' practice squad.
Greenwood participated in three games with the Lions in 2013, recording six tackles. He was taken by the Lions in the fifth round of the 2012 draft.
The Ravens have experienced season-ending injuries to cornerbacks Jimmy Smith, Asa Jackson, Danny Gorrer, Tramain Jacobs and safety Terrence Brooks. Cornerback Aaron Ross, signed this offseason, tore his Achilles on the first day of training camp doing the conditioning test.
Greenwood will provide depth but won't be expected to be active for Sunday's game against Houston. But based on what's happened to the Ravens this year, his number could be called upon at some point, especially if Baltimore makes a run in the postseason.
