Ravens cut Derek Cox
Consider Derek Cox a taxicab roster member of the Ravens right now.
For the second time in a week, the Ravens have released the veteran cornerback. Last Saturday, Cox was cut after initially not making the 53-man roster. After re-signing on Tuesday, the Ravens decided to cut him a day before the season-opener against the Bengals.
This marks the fourth time Cox has been cut in 2014. He was cut by the San Diego Chargers in the offseason and failed to make the cut when the Vikings trimmed their roster down to 75 players during the preseason.
It's not known what the corresponding roster move is at this time for the Ravens. When Cox was re-signed this past Tuesday, linebacker Josh Bynes was cut and moved to the practice squad. Bynes would seemingly be a good candidate to take the open 53-man roster spot for Sunday's game.
