Ravens DE Chris Canty had wrist surgery

The Ravens will be without defensive end Chris Canty for at least a couple of more weeks, coach John Harbaugh told reproters on Monday.

Canty, listed as having an illness on last week's injury report, was diagnosed with an infection in his wrist. As a result, he missed Sunday's game, a 20-13 loss to Indianapolis, and appears to definitely be out for next week's game against Tampa Bay.

Canty, who joined the Ravens in free agency a year ago, has two pass deflections and four tackles thus far.

Harbaugh also announced that cornerback Asa Jackson has a severely sprained toe and is likely headed to the injured reserve-designated to return list. The Ravens are already thin at corner, making this unit even more worrisome at the moment. Behind Lardarius Webb and Jimmy Smith, the only available healthy cornerback left is Chykie Brown.

More than likely, the Ravens will try to find a cornerback to plug in for depth purposes while Jackson is out.
