Ravens hold off Texans 20-13
For more than a decade, defense has driven the Baltimore Ravens.
It drove them again Sunday, forcing four turnovers by the Houston Texans and holding on to a 20-13 victory.
After falling behind 17-3, Houston dominated the second quarter and pulled to within 17-13 by halftime.
But the Ravens defense choked off any further threats by the Texans, picking off T.J. Yates late in the fourth quarter when Ed Reed grabbed an errant pass.
It was the third interception of the game against Yates with cornerback Lardarius Webb getting the other two interceptions as the Ravens earned a date with New England in the AFC Championship Game next Sunday.
If there was any bad news for the Ravens it was that Reed had to be helped off the field after having his leg hit and twisted on a final Hail Mary attempt by Houston in the end zone with 11 seconds left to play.
