Ravens sign former Browns, Titans running back Terrance West to practice squad

The Baltimore Ravens have signed former Cleveland Browns running back Terrance West to their practice squad, according to agents Jonathan Herbst and Dan Saffron. West had multiple offers from other NFL teams, choosing his hometown team instead. The Baltimore native was selected 94th overall last year in the third round after the Browns traded up to the San Francisco 49ers' spot. He was traded this year to the Tennessee Titans and released, clearing waivers Monday. The Titans acquired West in a trade from the Browns. West rushed for 673 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie last season for the Browns, catching 11 passes for 64 yards. West ran the 40-yard dash in 4.54 seconds at the NFL scouting combine. The 5-foot-9, 230-pound West rushed for 2,509 yards and 42 touchdowns at Towson before declaring for the NFL draft following his junior year. He finished with 4,854 career rushing yards and 86 touchdowns, setting records for the Tigers. Follow me on Twitter: @RavensInsider Aaron Wilson covers the Ravens for The Baltimore Sun
