Ravens to induct Stover into Ring of Honor
Kickers decide a lot of NFL games.
But because they are specialists and not full-time players, seldom to many kickers gain respect and honors as a football player. For example, Jan Stenerud is the only kicker in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
But on Sunday, Matt Stover, the long-time steady kicker of the Baltimore Ravens, will be inducted into the team's Ring of Honor this Sunday when the Ravens host the Cincinnati Bengals.
It is fitting, because other than Ray Lewis, Stover was one of the most recognizable Ravens in his 13 years there. He moved with the team from Cleveland in 1996, having already spent five years with the organization when it was still the Browns.
