Ravens waive Deonte Thompson
The Baltimore Ravens made a weekend roster move to bolster a position that may need some depth for Sunday's game against Cleveland.
The Ravens waived receiver Deonte Thompson and signed Fitzgerald Toussaint to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. This is the second time Toussaint has been signed to the 53-man roster this season, and this time there's a chance he may actually be active on game day.
Running back Bernard Pierce is questionable with a thigh injury, making his status somewhat uncertain. However, he was able to participate fully in Friday's practice so he may be OK to go. But this could be a situation where the Ravens feel they're better safe than sorry at the position. The Ravens also have Justin Forsett and Lorenzo Taliaferro at the running back position.
The Ravens had a plethora of receivers, so cutting one won't do too much harm. The Ravens still have six receivers on the roster with Thompson's release.
