Ray Edwards signs RFA tender; Vikes make flurry of moves
Minicamp ended on Sunday and the Minnesota Vikings got down to business with some roster moves today, headlined by the signing of defensive end Ray Edwards.
The restricted free agent, as expected, signed his one-year tender offer for $2.521 million. Edwards took a pass on minicamp this weekend, an event that was mandatory to only players under contract and those not named Adrian Peterson and Brett Favre.
The Vikings also got another player to sign as fifth-round draft pick Nate Triplett, a linebacker from the University of Minnesota, signed a contract, becoming the team’s second draft choice to come to terms.
The news wasn’t nearly as promising for six undrafted free agents. Center Eddie Adamski, offensive tackles Matt Hanson and Marlon Winn, running back James Johnson, wide receiver Aaron Rhea and cornerback Angelo Williams were waived.
