Redskins find a kicker to add competition for Graham Gano

Less than a week after Shayne Graham was given the boot, the Washington Redskins have added competition for Graham Gano.

The kicker’s job hasn’t been won just yet. The Redskins have signed Clint Stitser, according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post.

Stitser played in five games for the Cincinnati Bengals last season and made 7 of 8 field goal attempts. How much competition Stitser will add remains to be seen. Gano was excused to leave training camp because his wife went into labor. But Jones reports the team already planned to add another kicker to the mix.

Gano made all three field goals he tried in the team’s preseason opener and all five of his kickoffs went for touchbacks. The club reportedly picked Stitser after a tryout involving multiple kickers.
