Redskins make roster swap, promote WR Banks
The Washington Redskins juggled their roster before Sunday’s Donovan McNabb Bowl, adding wide receiver Brandon Banks from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.
The move implies that Banks will be active during the game against the Philadelphia Eagles. To make room for Banks, running back Keiland Williams was placed on waivers. Sometimes teams wait until the very end of the week to release players with the intention of re-signing them the following week. Williams will receive a game check for this week.
Williams was the third running back and now that fort will be manned by Clinton Portis and Ryan Torain. It’s possible Torain will quickly overtake Portis as the lead back.
