Redskins make Trent Williams highest paid tackle with six-year, $78.25 million deal
The Washington Redskins have locked up veteran offensive tackle Trent Williams and made him the highest paid offensive tackle in terms of guaranteed money in NFL history with a five-year, $66 million contract extension for a deal with a total value of $78.25 million over six years, according to agent Vince Taylor of Elite Loyalty Sports Management Agency in Dallas, Texas. Williams, one of the top blockers in the game, got an $8.5 million signing bonus, $32 million guaranteed at signing and $43.25 million in total guarantees. It's a reward for one of the best players in the NFL and one of the Redskins' most talented players in years. Williams is a tenacious, athletic blocker. This sets a high standard at the offensive tackle position with future deals for Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle Russell Okung and Indianapolis Colts offensive tackle Russell Okung coming down the pike.
