Redskins name Kirk Cousins as franchise player

The Washington Redskins have named quarterback Kirk Cousins as their franchise player. It costs $19.953 million. The Redskins and Cousins have until July 15 to work out a long-term deal. Otherwise, Cousins will play this season under the tender. Cousins passed for over 4,000 yards with 29 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, leading the Redskins to the NFC East division title.
