Redskins release five
The Washington Redskins have announced that five players have been released, including wide receiver Marko Mitchell.
A seventh-round selection from Nevada a year ago, Mitchell had limited opportunities during the season when he appeared in 10 games, but he made the most of his opportunities in preseason when he caught three touchdown passes and had 11 grabs for 113 yards. That tape wasn’t enough to help him with the new regime, not after the Redskins got done bringing in some veterans, including Joey Galloway and Bobby Wade, who were signed last week.
Also let go were defensive tackle Anthony Montgomery, wide receiver James Robinson and running backs P.J. Hill and Anthony Aldridge.
