Redskins sign Tanard Jackson
That didn’t take long.
Tanard Jackson was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday. Three day later, he’s reunited with a familiar face as the veteran safety was signed by the Washington Redskins, who hired Raheem Morris as defensive backs coach. The Redskins announced the signing.
The Bucs cited a failed physical in releasing Jackson but he should be fully recovered from shoulder surgery soon. The Redskins have been working to revamp their secondary and signed another veteran safety earlier this week, Madieu Williams.
Jackson started 10 games last season after being suspended for the entire 2010 year for violating the league’s drug policy. He was well liked in Tampa.
It will be interesting to see how the Redskins sort out the safety position. Keep in mind the club also signed Brandon Meriweather. So, there are a lot of new faces and one that will be familiar to Morris.
