Redskins sign Trent Williams
Mike Shanahan wanted to get Trent Williams in camp and the Washington Redskins coach has been granted his wish.
The team announced that Williams, the fourth overall pick in the draft, has signed his contract. That means he should join his teammates for practice at Redskins Park today. The team is hoping he will move into a starting role as a rookie and help make up for the loss of longtime fixture Chris Samuels.
The Redskins released defensive lineman Trey Jacobs and guard Mike Williams was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list.
