Reeling Cowboys place two on injured reserve
The hits just keep coming for the Dallas Cowboys.
Today, they placed defensive end Marcus Spears and promising rookie safety Akwasi Owusu-Ansah on injured reserve, ending the season for both players.
Spears suffered a calf injury in the loss at Green Bay on Sunday night, and Owusu-Ansah injured an ankle the week before in a loss to Jacksonville. He was the team’s leading kickoff returner.
Taking their place are a pair of defensive linemen – Jeremy Clark and Jimmy Saddler-McQueen. Clark is a well-traveled veteran and Saddler-McQueen is a rookie who spent time in training camp with the Cowboys while also making stops in Chicago and St. Louis.
