Reggie Bush practices, could be back in action soon

Reggie Bush made his return to practice on Thursday and the New Orleans Saints running back says he felt pretty good.

Bush practiced in a limited role for the first time since suffering a fractured right fibula in Week 2, one of the missing parts that have contributed to the Saints’ struggles. Whether or not he is cleared to play for Sunday’s game at Carolina remains unclear. It would seem a little early to force him back into action.

"There's still a little bit of pain there, but nothing that I couldn't handle. Nothing that wasn't expected," Bush said, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

"Obviously I want to be in there, and I feel like it's been long enough to where my leg is fine and I shouldn't have to worry about any re-injury or anything like that," Bush said. "So it's really up to the coaches and what they think, and the doctors and trainers, to feel like I can go.

"It would be great if I can get out there this weekend and at least run around a little bit and get some plays in here and there, just to get back into the feeling of it."

The Saints are going to need Bush for the stretch run. Getting him back into the swing of things against the Panthers is not as essential as having him for the final two months.
