Report: Alex Barron signs his RFA tender
The last steps for Dallas and St. Louis to consummate a trade will be physicals for linebacker Bobby Carpenter and offensive tackle Alex Barron.
Those medical checkups will be done on Monday, according to numerous reports, clearing the way for the former first-round draft picks to trade places.
Barron took care of the last thing he needed to do today, signing the restricted free agent tender he received from the Rams. Now, the deal will go down provided both players check out just fine. No snags are anticipated.
This looks to be a good situation for everyone involved. The Cowboys help themselves with some depth and Barron gets a fresh start with a team where some young players will be tried, but nothing is set in stone. Carpenter made just one start in four seasons in Dallas and he’ll go to a system that might be able to better use him. He has to be looking at it as a positive too.
