Report: Aqib Talib will miss remainder of season
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ season got a serious jolt on Sunday when they blew a 24-14 fourth-quarter lead at Raymond James Stadium and fell to the NFC South-leading Atlanta Falcons 28-24.
Injury was added to insult today when they found out that cornerback Aqib Talib, arguably the best defensive player on the team, will miss the remainder of the season with a hip injury. Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times reports that Talib will not require surgery, but that he tore a tendon from the bone.
It’s a devastating loss for the Bucs as they try to keep their playoff hopes alive. They are 7-5 and will almost certainly have to win at least three of their final games to reach the postseason. Without their top cover man, that task is now more challenging.
