Report: Bernard Berrian benched for skipping meetings
A poorly thought out Twitter exchange last week just became one of the smaller problems Bernard Berrian has.
The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver was de-activated for Sunday’s game – the club’s first victory of the season – after he reportedly missed two meeting on Saturday, according to a report in the St. Paul Pioneer Press. The article states that Berrian missed one meeting for the entire team and one for the offense that were held at the downtown hotel the club uses the night before games.
"It was a disciplinary decision by me," Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said. "That was the reason he wasn't active.
"That's not to say it will continuously be this way," Frazier said. "There were some things that we needed to get done that had to be done."
Berrian engaged in a Twitter spat with a state lawmaker, John Kriesel, who lost his legs during military service. Berrian has come under fire because through the first four games he played in he made just two catches for 37 yards.
