Report: Cardinals expected to sign QB Brodie Croyle
The Arizona Cardinals are expected to announce the signing of reserve quarterback Brodie Croyle after he passes a physical.
Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports with John Skelton (ankle) and Max Hall (shoulder) injured, Cardinals are fast-tracking the addition of another quarterback, one with experience. Croyle spent five seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. Without a new quarterback, the Cardinals would risk going into their preseason game Saturday with only two – starter Kevin Kolb and Rich Bartel.
Skelton has a high ankle sprain that will keep him out some time and Hall suffered a dislocated shoulder. It’s unknown how long Hall will be out but Skelton could be on the shelf a while. So, it sounds like Croyle could have an opportunity to stick as No. 3 quarterback if he can pick things up quickly.
