David Carr has found a backup quarterback situation that might make it easier for him to get on the field.

The quarterback has agreed to terms on a contract with the San Francisco 49ers, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, getting him out of the shadow of Eli Manning with the Giants.

Carr picked the 49ers even though he was drawing interest from Arizona and Cleveland.

The Giants will work out ex-Indianapolis backup Jim Sorgi on Monday and Vacchiano reports the team also has interest in Mark Brunell and Jeff Garcia.
