Report: Danny Woodhead fractured fibula
The Chargers suffered a huge setback as running back Danny Woodhead suffered a high ankle sprain and fractured fibula during Sunday's 22-10 win over the Bills, according to a report from FOX Sports.
Woodhead injured his ankle early in the game and was carted off of the field. This injury will likely end his season.
The Chargers are also without Ryan Mathews, who sprained his knee last week, for the time being. Of the top three running backs the Chargers entered the season with, only Donald Brown is still around to tote the ball. Mathews should be back in about a month.
With Woodhead likely out for the year and Mathews out for a while, running backs Branden Oliver and Marion Grice figure to get some added chances to work in on offense.
