Report: Dez Bryant close to peal in family violence case
Dez Bryant could be getting close to achieving closure from the alleged assault he had on his mother Angela Bryant this summer.
The radio station 105.3 The Fan reports Bryant is close to a plea deal stemming from his arrest that would reduce the charge to a Class C family violence misdemeanor. According to the station, attorneys representing Bryant met with the Dallas County District Attorney’s office this week.
Bryant’s mother was the one that reported him, accusing the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver of ripping her bra. Angela Bryant has since publicly said she does not wish to pursue charges against her son. Bryant was arrested July 16 by DeSoto, Texas, police. In the reported proposed plea, Bryant would not receive jail time or probation but would be subject to a $500 fine and anger management classes.
Bryant, of course, could be subject to discipline from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
