Report: Eagles nixed Vick's Oprah interview

Were the Eagles the ones who put the kibosh on Michael Vick’s appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show?”

Philadelphia’s quarterback was supposed to be interviewed by Winfrey today for a segment that was scheduled to be aired next week. CNBC’s Darren Rovell broke the news Wednesday that the interview had been called off.

Vick eventually released a statement that after “careful consideration” he made the decision to postpone the interview. According to Fox-29 in Philadelphia, it might have been the Eagles that pulled the plug on the deal. The station reports that Vick canceled after the Eagles “voiced objections.”

Why the Eagles would want to cancel the appearance isn’t known. It’s believed Vick’s prison stint, his work for the Humane Society and his successful return to the NFL were going to be topics of discussion.
