Report: Eagles willing to deal Asante Samuel for 5th or 6th
It’s common knowledge the Philadelphia Eagles have cornerback Asante Samuel on the trading block.
From the sounds of things, the price is dropping too.
The Eagles are motivated to deal Samuel, the former Pro Bowl performer, because he doesn’t start for them and the team is on the hook right now for nearly $21 million over the next two seasons. So, Samuel can be had cheap. How cheap?
Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that originally thinking was it would take a third- or fourth-round pick to make it happen. Now, McLane reports the Eagles are willing to take a fifth- or sixth-round pick to make a deal.
The draft starts next week. Stay tuned.
