Report: Fisher doesn't have offer yet from 'Phins or Rams
The reason for Jeff Fisher's indecision between the St. Louis Rams and Miami Dolphins is simple, says ESPN's Adam Schefter.
And it has nothing to do with leveraging the teams against one another for the best offer. In fact, quite the opposite, says Schefter, whom a "source close to Fisher," indicates that more than a week after the courtship from both teams began, the coach still hasn't received an offer from either team.
Really? It's hard to believe that either team would suddenly be taking the "don't call us, we'll call you approach" with a coach they each schmoozed last week, knowing that it was a two-team race for his services.
Or is it. Rumblings are beginning to bubble up that Fisher may be waiting to see what happens in Indianapolis, where Jim Caldwell probably is putting a few realtors on speed dial, as he awaits his fate as the Colts coach.
Perhaps Fisher doesn't want to cast his lot with either of these woebegone teams just yet, until he's certain that he won't be in the mix to coach Peyton Manning and/or Andrew Luck in 2012.
