Report: Gerald Sensabaugh near $22.5 million, 5-year deal

Gerald Sensabaugh came to the Dallas Cowboys last season on a one-year deal and returned in 2011 with a contract of the same length.

Now, it looks like the veteran safety has found some security for the future. Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports the Cowboys are near a five-year contract extension for Sensabaugh that will pay him $22.5 million.

Nothing is official yet, but the report states the I’s should be dotted and the T’s will be crossed by the end of the day. Sensabaugh is second on the team in tackles and has been a reliable fixture in Dallas’ secondary. Now, he can certainly celebrate the holidays early.
