Report: Giants bring back Kevin Boothe on 1-year deal

The New York Giants have been pressed for salary cap space like a lot of other teams, but the club found a way to carve out room for Kevin Boothe.

The veteran guard has been re-signed to a one-year contract, according to Kim Jones of the NFL Network. Boothe has drawn interest from a handful of clubs but at this point – two weeks into free agency – it is a buyers’ market. That is why most of the deals you will see at this point will be one-year contracts.

Boothe, a backup for most of his first five seasons with the Giants, became a starter last season and excelled. This helps but the contract everyone in New York is waiting to fall is one for wide receiver Victor Cruz.
