Report: Houshmandzadeh will not land with Vikings
Don’t look for T.J. Houshmandzadeh to be landing in the Twin Cities.
The Minnesota Vikings are not in the market for the veteran wide receiver, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. The Seattle Seahawks have informed Houshmandzadeh he will be released later today if the team cannot find a taker for him and the $7 million guaranteed he is owed this season.
Per the report, the Vikings will not be interested in Houshmandzadeh in trade or if he is released. He spurned Minnesota last season when he went to Seattle as a free agent, a very overpaid free agent now in the eyes of the Seahawks.
The Vikings have naturally been listed as one possible destination because they will be without Sidney Rice for at least the first half of the season and Percy Harvin can’t be better than week-to-week with his migraine issues.
Houshmandzadeh will play somewhere this season. The Seahawks will be paying him a lot of money, too.
