Report: Hurd signs RFA tender with Cowboys
Miles Austin said earlier this week that he’s on board with his tender as a restricted free agent in the event a longterm deal cannot be carved out. Now, another Dallas Cowboys wide receiver is back in the foeld.
Sam Hurd has signed his tender with the club, according to the Dallas Morning News, and he will earn $1.759 million this season. Hurd only had seven receptions last season but he was tendered at the second-round level because of the value he brings to the team on special teams. According to the report, he led the team in tackles on special teams with 18, and he’s also proven that he can pitch in on offense in a pinch.
Despite what Austin said, he has yet to put his name to his tender that will pay him more than $3.1 million this season. Safety Gerald Sensabaugh and offensive lineman Duke Preston have also yet to sign their tenders. Preston is reportedly going to retire.
