Report: Kroenke's bid for Rams could be finalized soon
Stan Kroenke’s bid to take full control of the St. Louis Rams could be finalized before Sam Bradford takes a snap in a regular-season game for the franchise.
According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the ownership situation surrounding the organization could be resolved in quick order. The powerful NFL finance committee will meet via conference call in the near future, according to Thomas, an important hurdle in Kroenke getting the support necessary to proceed with his bid, which will likely require him selling ownership of the Denver Nuggets of the NBA and Colorado Avalanche of the NHL to his wife, who is from the family that owns Wal-Mart.
If Kroenke receives the backing of the finance committee – and there is no reason to believe that won’t happen after the most recent league meeting – he could get approval from full ownership soon. Per Thomas, there is a chance it could happen before the regular season begins. Yes, the Rams better hope that Bradford is the quarterback to start the season.
