Report: Lane Kiffin targets a member of Jeff Fisher's staff

One member of the USC family is apparently trying to lure a coach from the staff of another member of the USC family right now.

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that Lane Kiffin, the new coach at USC, is doing his best to convince Tennessee Titans running back coach Kennedy Pola to head his way. Pola works for Jeff Fisher, a USC alum, on the Titans staff.

USC did not renew the contract of Todd McNair, the running backs coach, on Thursday. Per the report, he was a central figure in the NCAA’s investigation into the program that led to some stiff penalties.

Pola worked previously at USC and was a player there as well. Fisher hired him to replace Earnest Byner and he’s tasked with working with Chris Johnson.

“I really enjoy Nashville and being with (Coach) Jeff Fisher and the leadership here, the management,” Pola told Wyatt. “It's really been a new sense of energy.”

It would be interesting to learn what Fisher has to say about Kiffin going after a member of his staff, especially at this time of year.
