Report: Lions waive Mikel Leshoure
During the offseason, running back Mikel Leshoure was confident he'd see a bigger role in Detroit this year.
On Saturday, those hopes faded away. According to the Detroit Free-Press, the Lions have waived Leshoure as they cut their roster down to 53 players.
Leshoure has had an interesting career thus far. In 2012, the former second-round pick had 798 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, showing off his downhill running style. Carries rarely came in 2013 after the Lions signed Reggie Bush to the roster.
Another team will likely take a chance on Leshoure. The Lions ran out of room with Bush, Joique Bell and Theo Riddick looking at some major playing time this season.
