Report: Lloyd death may be tied to other murders
The startling report this morning that Aaron Hernandez is being investigated for two other murders from 2012 besides being charged in the killing of Odin Lloyd may have a link, says the Boston Globe.
An anonymous official told the newspaper that Lloyd's possible knowledge about the deaths of Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado, who were killed when a gunman from a vehicle opened fire on them in July 2012, might be motive for the shooting of Lloyd, which Hernandez has been charged with.
“The motive might have been that the victim knew [Hernandez] might have been involved,” one of the officials said.
Lloyd and Hernandez were acquaintances, and reports are they argued on June 14, just three days before Lloyd's body was found in an industrial park about a mile from the former New England Patriots' tight end's home.
If these dots are connected in court, then Hernandez's situation will likely go down as perhaps the most bizarre off-field incident in NFL history - even surpassing the murder accusations against Ray Lewis or even the O.J. Simpson white Bronco chase.
