Report: Lynell Hamilton believed to have torn ACL

The New Orleans are blessed with some depth at running back but that won’t make it much easier to handle the loss of Lynell Hamilton.

The running back went down in practice this morning with a knee injury and according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the fear is that he has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and he will miss the entire season.

Hamilton started one game for the Saints last season. He carried the ball 35 times for 125 yards and two touchdowns in 2009.

Behind Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush, this would appear to create an opening for Wisconsin running back P.J. Hill. Chris Ivory is also on the depth chart.
